We are including both laboratory-confirmed cases, and probable cases, meaning cases believed to have COVID-19 based on symptoms and exposure to confirmed cases (identified via contact tracing), but who cannot yet qualify for testing at this time. Outdoor Tennis Courts Reopen Friday: Rules on Use
In light of Governor Murphy’s executive order #147, effective Friday May 22, public tennis courts within Montgomery Township municipal parks will be open for use with the following restrictions:
- Courts may be used for singles play only, no doubles
- Courts may only be used for tennis, no pickleball
- All previously outlined social distancing guidelines must be followed
- There shall be no congregation in or around the courts while waiting for a court to become available
Prohibitions on the use of basketball courts, playgrounds, sports fields, or any contact sports within Montgomery public parks remain in effect at this time. This continues as a social distancing measure to protect public health and safety.
Executive Order #147 allows outdoor tennis clubs and community gardens to reopen and “some additional outdoor recreational areas and businesses to restart their operations,” including batting cages, golf ranges, shooting and archery ranges and horseback riding. Golfers may also now tee-off in foursomes.

Memorial Day Ceremony to Premiere Online May 25
The Montgomery Veterans Memorial Committee has created a Memorial Day Ceremony video which will premiere on May 25. The video will include a narration of our ceremony using images, video messages from Mayor Sadaf Jaffer, Rev. Chris Heitkamp, the playing of TAPS, and a montage from the students of Montgomery Lower Middle School.
The Montgomery Veterans Memorial Committee invites you attend this premiere at 9:00 am on Memorial Day when our ceremony would normally take place at the Veterans Committee website. It will premiere simultaneously on our Veterans Memorial website: montgomeryveteransmemorial.org , on the Township Facebook page at facebook.com/InMontgomeryNJ/ and on MontgomeryTogether.us

COVID-19 Community Forum Available to Watch on Demand
Montgomery Township municipal and school leaders hosted a well-received forum on the COVID-19 emergency last night, viewable on Comcast Cable Channel 29 and via live stream. It is not too late to watch for those who missed it live.
A panel of Montgomery and school officials fielded questions from civic representatives, news media, and the public related to how Montgomery Township is faring during the pandemic and current changes and trends.
