Following today’s mix of rain and snow, a major winter storm is expected to arrive on Wednesday afternoon and continue into Thursday. According to forecasts, this potent Nor’easter could bring a foot of snow to our area, beginning lightly Wednesday afternoon and gradually turning steady and heavy into the evening, making for hazardous driving.

Montgomery Township reminds residents that cars need to be off streets and parked in driveways to facilitate snow plowing, and that garbage and recycling bins should be pulled away from streets.

Because heavy, wet snow is expected, there will be a risk of power outages. PSE&G’s website offers advice for preparing for major snow events.

In response to the financial hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, Somerset County has established a rent relief program using Federal grant monies. Over $400,000 in rent relief is still available to county residents, including in Montgomery, who have suffered COVID-related income loss, subject to income limitations.
