MONTGOMERY HONORS STUDENTS FOR LEADING GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR MUNICIPAL CENTER

The Montgomery Township Committee last night honored Montgomery High School students Grace Johnson and Jordan Spector, who lead the school’s Youth Leadership Council, for serving as the masters of ceremony at last month’s groundbreaking ceremony for the township’s new municipal center at the corner of Orchard Road and Rte. 206.

In a resolution passed unanimously, elected leaders expressed “sincere gratitude to Grace and Jordan for representing the youth of our community and commends them on their many accomplishments and contributions, and wishes them continued success in all future endeavors.” They also were recognized for being “committed to improving their understanding of local government and sharing that knowledge with their peers.”

You can watch highlights of the ceremony in a short video created by Montgomery resident Bob Meola and released today. Among the officials participating in the event were Somerset County Freeholder Director Shanel Robinson, Freeholder Melonie Marano, current and former Montgomery mayors, and members of the Montgomery Township Committee and administrative staff.
